Randy Mann

From a young age of 6, Randy’s passion for motorcycles began. He started with the little Benelli and moved onto Honda XR75 to partake in trail riding and hill climbing. Randy’s journey towards becoming an avid motorcyclist led him to compete in Hill Climbs; quickly finding success as third place finisher at his first competition followed by second place shortly after that! Eventually it all paid off when he got himself a Suzuki RM80 which enabled him to qualify for Nationals where - much to his surprise- he won first prize! From then on out, for Randy, competing had shifted from mere sport into fascination over how bikes work optimally alongside riders.

Randy Mann

With a passion for adrenaline-filled activities, Randy began drag racing and hare scrambling in 1978. His natural talent enabled him to place amongst the top three in all events! In 1981 they purchased his first Honda CR125 which kickstarted an interest that would span across two decades; from dirt riding with a Honda CR500 to street bike modifications at just 16 years old – there was no stopping him! With dissatisfaction surrounding machine work of potential shops, it wasn’t until he turned 25 when he took matters into his own hands by teaching himself intricate thought processes on engine rebuilds.

Following a thorough exploration of two-stroke jetting, Randy’s interest in carburetion and tuning led him to purchase a Honda XR600 for Hare Scrambles. His enthusiasm really took off when the Honda XR400s were released in 1996 – he became absolutely obsessed with understanding how it all works! Suspension modifications soon followed, although he was never truly satisfied after multiple attempts at refinement.

After 1996, he began testing the waters in terms of modifying and adjusting his suspension. By early 1998, he had fully transformed his Honda XR400 to a motocross racing machine that was unstoppable when it came to hole-shots – even up against two-strokes! Unfortunately, though, its weight proved too much for efficient handling on the track compared to lighter bikes.

After taking his first steps in the world of motocross racing at a veteran C-Class level, Randy demonstrated remarkable progress as he worked to reach Expert class. Having subsequently conquered each age group from Vet 30+ all the way through 50+, Randy has undoubtedly earned his stripes on track.
